We're on vacation to celebrate our first anniversary and just to get a little R&R before school starts.

We're headed to -- the OBX (7/25-7/28); Virginia Beach and The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond (7/28-7/29); the family farm in Maryland (7/29-8/7).

I'm mostly out of cellular and email range for that time. Will return messages and catch up on proofing sessions when I return to Clayton on 8/8.

Cam and Caroline are some of my favorite -- and longest-running -- subjects. I started with maternity pictures about 2 1/2 years ago, and Cam has been getting cuter every since.

What I love about photographing kids like Cam is that they are fun just to follow around. You can tell that her mind is moving all the time, and she seems to learn new words every 30 seconds. My favorite shots are always the ones where we were talking about something, or she was in her own world, and I grabbed a few frames.

Six months is a great age for pictures, too -- Caroline's sweet, sweet personality just bubbles up time and again as she breaks into big grins. And she has got the most amazing curls!

I had the privilege of shooting Amanda and Lee's wedding for Natalie Storment of Statesville.

They got married in a beautiful church in Newton, with a reception following at Hutt House, a great venue just around the block from the church.
